Day 4/365 - Practice the art of making real friends

One of the biggest lessons I have learned in my entrepreneurship journey is the importance of having good quality friends. The interesting thing about life is that we often attract who we are, so if you want to be surrounded with better quality people, best become someone of quality, too.

Friends! What sort of friends would you like to be surrounded with? Friends that will stick by you, thick and thin? Friends that would cheer you up when you're feeling down? Friends that would understand you and help you grow? Are you a good friend too?

Sustainability in Nu Skin business or any direct-selling business requires us to be authentic, sincere in serving others, have good product knowledge (that's easy because we are the users), be a great matchmaker (because it is our duty to understand needs and match them with what we have to offer) and be surrounded by good quality friends who will support our business.

There are only 3 types of friends we need in our lives. These 3 qualities, we also need to have in our selves.

1. Friends that need what we have, would support our cause, buy products, refer us to others.
2. Friends that might not need our products or be into our business, but would encourage us, give us great ideas and input.
3. Friends that has no need for what we have, don't know the right things to say but will offer silent positivity.

Anything other than the above, we can afford to lose.

Nu Skin business is a people business. We are in the business to be the force for good throughout the world by empowering people to improve lives with rewarding business opportunities, innovative products, and an enriching, uplifting culture. Hence, who we surround ourselves with, we need to swiftly decide and matchmake well.

It is important to have good standards and quality. We, first and foremost, need to aspire to be of that quality. Do not expect others to do what we ourselves cannot. Nu Skin business is leadership by example. Very unlike regular corporate or traditional businesses where their sales staff do not use the products they sell. We endorse our products. We are the difference demonstrated. The better we become, the better we attract.

I am blessed. Blessed to be surrounded by great friends and quality people who supports me in all I do. Making friends is an art. It is truly wonderful to be in an industry where we can help improve lives, empower people to be independent and have abundance, foster great relationships and spread happiness wherever we go.

It is nice to have followers..but it is even better to make a lot of friends.
