Malaysia Day - Kidney4Daddy Charity Walk

16 September 2012. Malaysia Day. A day to celebrate the formation of Malaysian Federation, and the joining of Sabah and Sarawak to Peninsular Malaysia. A significant day of states coming together and people being one. Unity. Our strength.

The morning was slightly gloomy. It was raining from where we left. We were slightly worried about the turnout for the morning's event. We arrived at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur City Center at 7.15am.

The drizzle didnt stop the many of us who turned up to support Kidney4Daddy. Some people came as early as 6am!

The atmosphere was great, with many well wishers coming together to support a good cause. The National Kidney Foundation came giving out free screening tests to all.

Below are Jane Teh, owner of Ravissante The Beauty Shop, and Idora Baharuddin with her youngest child.

The 3km walk started off with a warm up session and we were taken on a route around the beautiful Lake Gardens.

1Malaysia for all, with a flag bearer, guiding us on course. Its so nice to see this spirit of patriotism and a gathering of Malaysians.

And the walk begins!

There was also a car boot sale, and Ravissante The Beauty Shop flyers for free trial were given away.

An overall wonderful experience to get together on a significant Malaysia Day, to do our bit for charity, in support of Kidney4Daddy.
