While everyone can be successful, not everyone will

Multi Level Marketing (MLM) is a dirty word. I watched a video where if you go for a conference and wanted people to avoid you like plague, write it bold as your profession under your name. Always works like a charm.

The problem is most scams mask themselves as MLM, although not all MLM are scams. As in any other investment and business ventures, do your proper due diligence before jumping in. My industry feeds on over exaggeration and many leaders just blatantly lie. They recruit not to help their team, but to get their team to help their own pockets. Sounds familiar? Well.. it's just part and parcel of business ownership and entrepreneurship 101. What truly gives MLM a bad name is the exploitation of relationships.. friends who you thought or remembered as friends, who thinks of you as the ATM. Bad taste.

I learn that selfish people are everywhere. People, unable to blame their own greed, foolishness, laziness or ego, would rather blame others... and hence, the industry gets a whole lot of flack. Is it hard to garner success in MLM? If you have terrible discipline, unfortunately yes.. it will be almost impossible. While everyone can be successful in my industry (we have almost no barriers of entry, and it is 100% equal opportunity), the fact is, not everyone will.

Why? Simply because discipline is hard. Dedication is tough. Commitment to delayed gratification is so difficult. Putting on daily skincare, eating supplements, building relationships, understanding others, mastering product knowledge, sound solution selling, and putting other people's interest on the forefront is NOT easy. Most people prefer to just give up. Unfortunate, but true.

And then after they "failed" at this endeavour, they join the masses to attack the industry. Where is the integrity in that? Just poor character, in my opinion.

Business and entrepreneurship is NOT for everyone. If you are not ready to invest any money, time and effort but are hoping for a quick return, then my advice to you is to go to the casino, put on a bet, and gamble. The easiest way to get a 100% return in 2 seconds. But if you are looking into building a pipeline for residual income in the future, MLM is hard work. Choose a good company with great products that meet market needs, a solid compensation plan, have high integrity, get to work being the difference demonstrated and help others achieve the best they can be. It is a highly challenging industry, but at the very least, with Nu Skin, I know it is worth it.
