Allergic to MLM?
There are these taboo words in the business world called "Multi Level Marketing" and "Direct Selling". Many shun it, people are afraid of it. Some go as far to be allergic to it. As for me, I love it.
I love it because I get to see the human connection up close. I get to experience the disparity of what people say, and what people do. I get to understand a person's character; and trust me, there are so many people with terrible character. What I mean by terrible character is that what they say and who they are, are completely different people. This intrigues me. Its very obvious why people are where they are.
A majority of people who are allergic to MLM were once burnt by it. They were once greedy, lazy people who thought that by putting in some money and not working at all, they'd be able to enjoy fruits of labour. It's called "fruits of labour" for a reason, you know. You need to labour, first. People are basically just lazy. They are looking for a short cut for success. Hence, that's why there is a huge opportunity for get-rich-quick schemes and a bevy of lose-weight-fast programmes to toy with these people. People who are allergic, once got burnt. To be involved in a MLM again would take a huge blow to their ego, because they would need to confront their past mistakes and foolishness.
People do not understand that Multi Level Marketing / Direct Selling is just a mode of distribution. The goods that are being sold, and the value that a sales person bring are still very key to solidifying long term business transactions. If you are considering a MLM business model, do ensure that the company is trustworthy, has a good track record to show, a minimum of 30 years in business and a business model that would benefit the distributors instead of just the company alone.
The more I engage with people, the easier I see a pattern. In reality, there are only two types of people in the world. The Winners and the Losers. Positive and Negative. Victor and Victims. There is actually no in-between because how we do anything is how we do everything. Character is defined as "the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual". This is very important. Our moral compass for proper conduct and our principles of right and wrong behavior. Tony Robbins always say "Raise our standards". What he means is: standards of behaviour and beliefs.
If we bother to look carefully into a person, it would become really obvious why things are the way they are. The cause and effect. This is the law of life. What we did yesterday, will result in what we have today. If we are unhappy with what we have today, then we need to change and do the right things so that our tomorrow will be better. The beauty of life is that at every moment, we have the ability to change. We do not have to be who we are in the past. We can recreate our new reality. The catch is, the results would take a longer time to show. Only through consistent and congruent effort, will we be able to achieve all that we want to achieve.
In my opinion, there are two reasons why people would not consider our Nu Skin business.
1. They do not understand what we have, what we do, or how business is done. In other words, they do not have confidence in the business. This we can help.
2. They do not believe they can get the results. Simply put, they do not have confidence in themselves. This we cannot help.
They can say whatever they want to say. Our job is to work with people who will work with us. Our job is to ensure that we are the difference demonstrated and educate others on what we do. In other businesses, it is fine to not use the products. I might be selling a million dollar IT server solution that I would never in my lifetime be using it directly. In our Nu Skin business, it is crucial that we practice good habits of being the difference demonstrated. Many can talk the talk. To be successful in our business, we must walk the talk. Become the best version of ourselves. Only when we have walked the path, can we call ourselves "successful". This is the beauty of our 642 System. It is an experiential learning.
That being said, there will only be 5% of people who will be successful. Stop doing what is easy, and start doing what is right.
